How to arrange the laundry room layout

A well—organized laundry layout is one of the key components of the company's success. A properly designed space optimizes and speeds up work processes, increases staff efficiency, and provides convenience for customers.

Zoning and furnishing of the premises

When developing a plan, the space is divided into functional zones, each of which is designed to solve specific tasks.

1. Pre-sorting and receiving laundry. Here, employees receive items from customers, classify them by type and material, and set the processing sequence.
2. The washing and laundry area. The main laundry area, where washing machines and other equipment are located.
3. Drying and ironing department. The space allocated for dryers, ironing boards and skating rinks.
4. Storage facilities. Designed for temporary storage of clean clothes and professional chemicals.
5. Administrative and residential areas. The administrator's office, staff lounge, bathroom.

When planning a laundry room, it is important to pay attention to ergonomics and logistics inside the room.

• The location of the entrance and exit separates the routes of movement of customers and staff.
• The working lines are arranged sequentially, forming a continuous cycle.
• The main equipment is installed along the walls, leaving the central area free.

The room must comply with building regulations and fire safety requirements. Be sure to provide backup exits, fire escapes, and warning and alarm systems. The installation of exhaust ventilation is mandatory to prevent the accumulation of harmful fumes.

The illumination should be sufficient for comfortable performance of work operations. Electrical wiring is laid in special channels, protected from ingress of water and other liquids. Electrical appliances are connected to sockets corresponding to the IPX4 or higher moisture protection class.
