Super efficient eco–friendly cleaning system - SISTEMK4!
At St Croix White Way Cleaners, we consistently strive to continuously improve the quality of our cleaning services while adhering to our environmental protection mission.
Since the opening of our new facility in 2007, St Croix | White Way Cleaners has been used solvent for dry cleaners, known as "Hydrocarbon" (hydrocarbon solvent). "Hydro" carbon is odorless, biodegradable and highly efficient (just look at the five "Badge of Approval" awards we have received from the Institute of Laundry and Dry Cleaning!) and, moreover, it is environmentally friendly.
However, not so long ago we discovered an amazing new cleaning system that has the advantages of a hydrocarbon solvent, but cleans things even better.
Before we start talking about what provides the benefits of K4, we probably need to elaborate on what constitutes "dry" dry cleaning in principle.
In fact, this is not at all cleaning your clothes in a dry state. Things get soaked and become "wet", but they are not soaked with water.
SYSTEM4 does not pose such risks; SOLVONK4 is completely non-toxic, it is 99% organic and 100% biodegradable.
One of the advantages of perchloroethylene is its aggressiveness towards oil and fat contamination. Although "Hydrocarbon" could cope with such pollution, it was not so effective, and sometimes it was necessary to re-clean things.
SISTEMK4, on the one hand, copes with pollution as well as perchloroethylene, and this is to the liking of our dry cleaning wizards. On the other hand, it allows you to save on pre-cleaning, because complex impurities are removed after the first cleaning "by themselves".

St. Croix Cleaners Receives Green Business Award
"White Way" Cleaners owner, Dave Nemec, was invited to the Minneapolis City Council to receive the "Green Business Award" in recognition of the environmentally friendly methods used by his company. The Stillwater, Minnesota-based dry cleaning company switched to environmentally friendly solvents in 2007 and has not returned to the old methods since. "We are always on the lookout for new and better technologies and cleaning options using balanced and environmentally friendly methods. We have done a lot of work, raising our quality standards and, at the same time, remaining as environmentally friendly as possible. It is a great honor for us to be recognized for our efforts," Nemek said.

For over 100 years, dry cleaners have used mainly a chemical called perchloroethylene, also known as "Perc," as a solvent. It is an aggressive chemical that removes impurities very well, but each cleaning leads to more fading and damage to fabrics. In addition, it is perchloroethylene that creates the chemical odor that most people associate with dry cleaners.
But, besides the unpleasant smell, solvent for dry cleaners It is considered a dangerous chemical, and some researchers have even declared it a carcinogen. The government charges taxes for its use, and it requires proper disposal.
